The Rockefeller Center skating rink was built in 1936.  Today, more then a quarter of a million people enjoys the Rockefeller Center Skating Rink.                                                              Rockefeller Center is home to many New York landmarks, Historic GE Building, Radio City Music Hall and the famous of them all, The Christmas Tree Lighting.                                                Rockefeller Center would have not exists if it wasn't for the 1929 stock market crash.

David Rockefeller leased the property in a area called "Speak easy belt". with plans to build a new Metropolitan Opera.

When the stock market crashed the Met couldn't afford to move, so Rockefeller decided to build an office complex instead.  Construction of the Art Deco Style building began. 

As of today Rockefeller has become a major New York Landmark, hosting some of the City's most famous sights and destination.

This is a highly crowded place during the Holiday Season.  Best time to go is EARLY morning or Week days before 4 pm.

Rockefeller Center Skating Rink is open from Oct.-April.
No skates or reservation needed for the Rockefeller Center Rink.
