The night before the Thanksgiving day parade, everyone gather to watch the famous giant helium balloons get inflated.
This has been a tradition since 1927. Balloons are blown up and bought to life around American Museum of Natural History. These Hugh balloons takes up to 2 full blocks. Nets and sandbag are used to keep the balloons from escaping.
This starts at 4 pm on Thanksgiving eve on 77th and 81 st. Public viewing is from 3-8 pm.
