The Children's Brooklyn Museum

Brooklyn Children's Museum
Being built in 1895 by architects McKim, Mead and White in the Beaux-art style, The Brooklyn is one of the few Brooklyn Landmarks.  The Museum which holds about 1.5 Million works went through struggles to keep it's collection.

Thomas S. Buechner who was the Museum art director in 1960 saw a major transformation in the way the Museum displayed  art so he bought work from the Museums archives and put them on display.

Areas in the collection include Egyptian Antiques that are over 3,000 years old, African and Japanese Art and also American Art that goes back to the Colonial period from artist such as Norman Rockwell, Edgar Degas and Max Weber.

Located on Washington Ave and Eastern  Parkway.  Go check out one of Brooklyn's few standing Landmarks.

The Brooklyn Children's Museum is the first and only "Green" museum in New York City. It offers interactive learning adventures through hands on exhibitions, multicultural performances, creative workshop and collections Cultural Performances.

Brooklyn Children's Museum welcomes over 250,00 visitors each year.  .http://www.brooklynkids.org/
